Employee Status

Psychology Interns are employees of the Florida State University College of Medicine and are eligible for university employee benefits.

Health Insurance

Interns are eligible to enroll in available Florida State University health insurance plans. Information regarding plan options and enrollment is provided during orientation.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

Interns receive:

  • 104 hours of paid time off during the training year
  • University-recognized holidays
  • Compensatory time when clinical responsibilities require coverage during holidays

Professional Development Allowance

The program provides:

  • Up to $1,500 in professional development support
  • Up to five days of professional leave for approved educational activities
  • Support for conference attendance, presentations, advanced training, scholarly activities, and other professional development opportunities

Professional Liability Coverage

Interns are covered under the Florida State University College of Medicine insurance program, which provides comprehensive general liability protection, including professional liability coverage for activities performed within the scope of their training and employment.
