About the Program

The Transitional Year Residency Program is sponsored by The Florida State University (FSU) College of Medicine in partnership with Lee Health System in Cape Coral, Florida.

During training, residents will participate in a broad-based program of graduate medical education in multiple clinical disciplines within the supportive environment and close-knit community of Cape Coral and Lee Health. Due to a shortage of physicians in Southwest Florida, we hope that our residents will have such an exceptional experience here that our graduates would consider staying in the area to practice or, after completion of their advanced training programs, that our graduates would consider returning to the area to practice.
