Welcome! Thank you for considering our Transitional Year Residency Program at Lee Health.

The Transitional Year program is based at Cape Coral Hospital and offers a well-balanced clinical year that prepares residents for success in a wide variety of specialties. Through diverse rotations in general internal medicine, internal subspecialties, emergency medicine, and electives tailored to individual career goals, residents gain a strong foundation in patient care across settings.

We emphasize education, while ensuring residents have protected time and flexibility to pursue their academic and professional development. Equally important, we prioritize wellness and balance, taking full advantage of the supportive community and year-round sunshine of Southwest Florida. With the mentorship of experienced faculty and the resources of a large health system, graduates of our Transitional Year are exceptionally well-prepared to enter advanced residency programs and thrive as compassionate, skilled physicians.
