FSU College of Medicine & Mayo Clinic Jacksonville Summer Research Fellowship Program
This prestigious program is a collaboration with colleagues at Mayo Clinic in Florida, Division of Research in Jacksonville. It is open to FSU medical students in good academic standing who are interested in summer research between their first and second year.
It offers a unique opportunity to develop research skills in a dynamic clinical research environment. Participants must temporarily relocate to Jacksonville, Florida for the duration of the program, where they are matched with a Mayo Clinic mentor for onsite research participation.
Beyond participating in ongoing research investigations and developing skills in research methodology, there will be assigned educational activities, including on-site weekly lecture series. In addition, fellows must present a written summary and oral presentation of their research at the end of the program.
Program dates are set by Mayo Clinic in Florida and run concurrently with the Mayo Clinic CRSIP summer program. There are specific onboarding processes and trainings required to be completed prior to the start of the program. Fellows are required to present their poster at the Medical Student Summer Research Fair in October, following the summer program.
