Welcome to the Florida State University College of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program at BayCare Health System (Winter Haven). On behalf of the entire team, I want to thank you for your interest in our program.

Our mission is to provide a dynamic, professional learning environment grounded in the concepts of life-long learning, teaching, scholarship, and high-value, high-quality care. We believe this will develop compassionate, patient-centered, well-rounded family physicians who passionately serve their patients and communities.

Located in the beautiful lake country of central Florida, the Winter Haven area is well-known for its beautiful chains of lakes and close-knit community. The area has numerous biking trails, easy access to lakes for boating, fishing, and water skiing, sports facilities, cultural events, colleges, and universities. The best of big city amenities are located a short distance away in both Orlando and Tampa without having to fight the daily traffic. Disney is only 30 miles away and both the Gulf and Atlantic beaches are a short trip away!

I am honored to serve as the Founding Program Director alongside our outstanding faculty who are dedicated to our residents and patients. We are blessed with the incredible resources of two mission-driven organizations aiming to improve the health of Central Florida: the Florida State University College of Medicine and BayCare Health System. This exceptional program was built from the ground up with a supportive teaching hospital and medical staff. A state-of-the-art clinic/facility was created specifically to serve as the residency home and as a center for care within the community. Our residents and faculty offer a full spectrum of care, from Sports Medicine and Women’s Health to Preventive Medicine and Chronic Disease Management.
