Dr. Jonathan Appelbaum, Laurie L. Dozier Jr., M.D., Education Director and Professor, Internal Medicine, is participating with Diana Williams and Pamela Keel in research on binge-eating -- Biobehavioral Prediction Of Illness Trajectory In BulimicSyndromes. Submitted to National Institute of Mental Health -- funded by the National Institute of Mental Health.


 

The centerpiece for departmental research includes the FSU Autism Institute, headed by Dr. Amy Wetherby, distinguished research professor, and includes a research network to study various aspects of Autism Related Disorders and Developmental Disabilities. This research network spans to community field research and provides screening and behavioral intervention to children throughout Florida who have Autism Spectrum Disorders.


 

Dr. Gerry Maitland, a neurologist in the Clinical Sciences Department, is co-founder of the Neuroscience Center and of the Memory Disorders Clinic at the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. He is intensely involved in the participation of our medical students in a variety of clinical research projects and also has research interests in movement disorders, including Parkinson's Disease.
