Wellness

WellnessThe ACGME has been fully committed to the exploration into the causes of physician burnout.  For as long as the ACGME has been serving the graduate medical education community the need to provide a solution for physician burnout has been an ongoing concern.  Within the last several years, the ACGME's Physician Well-Being Initiative has seen an increase in growth.  The primary goal of the initiative is to help reduce physician burnout through the rediscovery of joy and meaning in their career.   The micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology fellowship is a very small program that allows the program director and fellow to work closely with one another.  The program director believes in the importance of physicial activity and counseling on wellness frequently.  By providing a hands-on approach the program director and fellow help reduce feelings of burnout and ensure wellness is a central component within the program.
