SSTRIDE© High School Program

The High School SSTRIDE© program is for students who have moved along the outreach pipeline since middle school and is available to high school students at designated schools in Collier, Gadsden, Okaloosa, Orange and Sarasota counties.  It is in the high school programs where SSTRIDE© students really get serious about their dreams of becoming a healthcare professional.

High School SSTRIDE© includes:

  • Advanced in-school science or elective course
  • Academic tutoring
  • Enrichment activities
  • Public speaking skill development
  • College admission and financial aid seminars
  • Career shadowing opportunities
  • Externships with local healthcare facilities and physician offices
  • Parent support and informational meetings

Since the overall structure of SSTRIDE© works within the existing curricular and programmatic academic course offerings in each school, we offer something unique in each county for high school students.  Each county provides a comprehensive model program of interdisciplinary science education improvement, student development, intervention, enrichment and support.  An after-school program is offered to high school students in Orange County, while an in-school program exists for high school students in SSTRIDE© counties of Collier, Gadsden, Okaloosa and Sarasota.
