Pre-Health Advising: Letters of Recommendation

Unlike medical schools which have a fairly common requirement for the types of letters they want from their applicants, other health professions programs vary in the letters they want and how they are collected. Some schools such as dentistry, pharmacy, and veterinary medicine allow applicants to register their author’s information into the electronic letter of evaluation section of the application. Other professional schools prefer that the letters be sent directly to the schools. If the schools you are applying to use a centralized application service, follow the policies set forth by that service. If a centralized application does not exist, contact the school(s) directly to find out how the letters are to be sent.

Always check the website for each school to which you are applying to know their requirement or preference for letters of recommendation.
