Rural Medical Mission Trips
In collaboration with organizations like Remote Area Medical, students participate in medical mission trips catering to rural and underserved populations thorughout the state of Florida where students perform both clinical and humanitarian duties under direct supervision of FSUCOM physicians.
FRHA hosts a guest speaker to speak to current medical students about rural medcine. Recent speakers have included former FRHA officers, Dr. Robin Albritton, M.D. (Marianna, FL) and Dr. Patrick Hawkins, M.D. (Bonifay, FL).
Sunland Fall Festival
Students helped locals celebrate at the Sunland Fall Festival in Marianna, FL by providing free health screenings.
FRHA hosts procedures clinics to allow students to take a break from studying to learn common medical procedures, such as Foley Catheter placement and lumbar punctures.
Steps to a Healthier You- Health Screening- September 28th, 2019
The FRHA is teaming up with the SNMA and LMSA to host a health screening at the "Steps to a Healthier You" walk and health informational session held in Quincy, FL, on Saturday, September 28th from 9:30AM-12PM. Please join us for a fun and informative morning on how to become a healthier you!
Florida Forest Festival- October 26th, 2019
Please join the FRHA at the annual Florida Forest Festival on Saturday, October 26th from 8AM-5PM in Perry, FL. The FRHA will represent the FSU COM at this event and provide free health screenings to all attendees. There will be food, local vendors, entertainment, and blood pressure checks!
