Kapp co-presents "My Life, My Decisions...I think"

Professor Marshall Kapp co-presented “My Life, My Decisions…I think: Autonomy, Capacity & Impaired Mental Status” at the Annual Convention of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). The convention was held in Denver on Nov. 12. Kapp is director of the Center for Innovative Collaboration in Medicine and Law at the College of Medicine.

Brummel-Smith helps author AGS position paper

Geriatrics Professor Ken Brummel-Smith recently authored, "Person-Centered Care: A Definition and Essential Elements," in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society. The article is based on a charge from the SCAN Foundation to provide evidence-based support for a definition of person-centered care and its essential elements.

Bhide receives $40,000 GAP award

Biomedical Sciences Professor Pradeep Bhide was awarded $40,000 from the FSU Research Foundation's Grant Assistance Program (GAP) for his proposal, A Pharmacologic Treatment for Cognitive Inflexibility. GAP awards help FSU researchers bring their work from the lab to the market.

Meckes awarded DOH grant

Biomedical Sciences Researcher David Meckes was awarded $81,499 from the Florida Department of Health for "Blood Exosomes and Neurodegenerative Disease." The funds are from the Ed and Ethel Moore Alzheimer's Disease Research Program.
