Autism Intervention Research Network for Behavioral Health (AIR-B)

The Autism Intervention Network for Behavioral Health (AIR-B) is funded by the US Health and Human Services, Health Resources & Services Administration. This is a network with UCLA serving as the Network Coordinating Center and FSU as one of the Collaborating Research Entities with Kennedy Krieger Institute, U Michigan, and U Washington. The overall purpose of the network is to test evidence-based practices on core deficits and active ingredients of intervention on underserved populations, validate meaningful outcome measures, develop evidence-based intervention guidelines, and disseminate information to health professionals and families using innovative approaches. The network will be conducting collaborative studies on preschool and elementary school children with ASD from underserved populations (i.e., minorities, low income, or rural settings). As part of the AIR-B network, each site will be conducting a randomized group design study to teach parents of young children of underserved families to implement intervention strategies to improve joint engagement in everyday activities at home. A control group of parents of children will attend an educational class on behavioral intervention strategies.
