The Melissa L. Knabe Community Impact Award was created to honor the memory of our wonderful colleague. The Award honors individuals that are making significant contributions to their community through time, actions, talents, dedication, and resources. These individuals serve as role models for compassion and service and strive to make their communities better places to live and work.

BSSM is pleased to announce that our 2024 recipient of the Melissa L. Knabe Community Impact Award is Robert Glueckauf!  We had several outstanding nominees, and the committee had a hard decision to make. Glueckauf’s contributions and dedication to community impact over many years was recognized in his multiple nominations for the award. Glueckauf has embodied a selfless dedication to implementing and sustaining his ACTS2 African American Alzheimer’s Caregivers Training and Support program in communities throughout Florida for many years. Working closely with Ms. Tomeka Norton and many others, the program has partnered with many segments of the community, including African American / Black churches, to listen, learn, support, train, and empower the community to help support caregivers of people with dementia. He has been a leader in forging trusted and longstanding relationships with community members and leaders to meet the caregiving community needs. Congratulations to Glueckauf and all the nominees.

More information on his program can be found here: https://www.acts2project.org/about.html
