Updates in 2020

Robin Albritton, M.D., has been inducted as a faculty member into the Chapman Chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society at the FSU College of Medicine for 2021. Albritton teaches FSU medical students in Marianna, where he is a family physician. In 2015, Albritton received the College of Medicine’s Distinguished Alumni Award.  Posted 2.02.21.

Adam Langley, M.D., and Gary Visser, M.D., are recognized on the 2020 Seminole 100 List of the fastest-growing businesses owned or managed by Florida State alumni for their business, PremierMED in Ocoee. Posted 4.6.20.

Courtney Nall, M.D., and husband Christopher Connelly welcomed their second child, Frances “Frannie” Kathryn Connelly, on April 14.  Posted 2.02.21.

Stephen Patrick, M.D., is director of the Vanderbilt Center for Child Health Policy, an associate professor of pediatrics and health policy at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and an attending neonatologist at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. He also currently serves as an adjunct physician for policy research at RAND Corporation and is a guest researcher at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Patrick was one of two pediatricians to be awarded Weill Cornell Medicine’s fifth annual Gale and Ira Drukier Prize in Children’s Health Research. The award honors early-career pediatricians whose research has made important contributions toward improving the health of children and adolescents.  Posted 2.02.21.

Adam Langley, M.D., and Gary Visser, M.D., were honored for their medical entrepreneurship because theirs is one of the fastest-growing businesses owned by FSU alumni. Posted 8.7.19.

Beau Toskich, M.D., is an interventional radiologist at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville and has been extended a visiting professorship to discuss the management of liver cancer at the University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain.  Posted 8.7.19.

Tamara Kolev, M.D., is an assistant professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive science at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York. Posted 7.16.18.

Updates in 2017

John Beach, M.D., recently received the Doctor of the Quarter award at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale. He and his wife welcomed the birth of a son last year. Posted 10.1.17.

Classmates and business partners Adam Langley, M.D., and Gary Visser, M.D., have begun construction on a new building for their practice, PremierMED Family & Sports Medicine in Ocoee. Posted 10.1.17.

Stephen Patrick, M.D., is an assistant professor of pediatrics and health policy at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and an attending neonatologist at Monroe Carrell Jr. Children’s Hospital. Recently he received Early Career Physician of the Year honors from the Tennessee Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, as well as the Nemours Child Health Services Research Award, and he has published numerous papers this year, including one in JAMA Pediatrics. In June he addressed the U.S. Senate on opioid addiction and the effects on newborns at the Institute for Medicaid Innovation. Posted 10.1.17.

Beau Bosko Toskich, M.D., is an interventional radiologist specializing in interventional oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. He was elected to serve on the board of directors as inaugural interventional oncology liaison for the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology. Posted 10.1.17.
