Communication and Early Childhood Research and Practice (CEC RAP) Center

 

Engaging with community programs and agencies is the heart of the CEC-RAP mission. To accomplish this, staff and students participate in projects, practicum and professional development with multiple early childhood agencies within the community.  Undergraduate and graduate students engage in service learning activities that support children with disabilities and their families within community settings.  Implementing the most current innovations in early intervention and education relies on highly qualified personnel. Professional development that moves research to practice is another goal of CEC-RAP.  Large, small and individual training and coaching is offered to teachers and early intervention service providers to promote communication development and intervention, early literacy, general development and positive behavior support for young children with challenging behaviors.
