Tobacco Free Florida - The Journey Starts Here
Tobacco Free Florida & Florida AHEC have a tailored behavioral health curriculum for smoking cessation that is being utilized with behavioral health partners throughout the state at no cost to the site or participants. It is a 6-week group that meets for an hour and allows for participants to join at any session. The program also provides free NRT to eligible participants. We would be happy to have our staff come on-site and provide these groups and look at getting yourself and other staff trained as Tobacco Treatment Specialists who could then help with facilitation of the groups.
For more information on this program, contact Rebecca Carter at rebecca.carter@med.fsu.edu
Quit Smoking NOW (QSN) is a 6-session smoking cessation program. Everyone starts QSN while still using tobacco and everyone quits together in week 4 of the program. Throughout the six sessions, a tobacco treatment specialist (TTS) works with tobacco users in a supportive group setting to facilitate the cessation process by providing the information and tools needed to become tobacco free. QSN also offers access to nicotine replacement therapies (NRT) such as patches, gum and lozenges, to help manage withdrawal symptoms.
