Debra Danforth was selected as the 2019-20 Texas Tech University School of Nursing distinguished alumnus. Danforth is associate professor and director of the Charlotte E. Maguire, M.D. and TMH Clinical Learning Center at the FSU College of Medicine. 

One of Danforth's nominating colleagues shared: “[Her] commitment to the education of future health care professionals is marked by integrity, compassion, and giving back to students, clinicians, educators, and her community.” Plans are underway to celebrate Danforth and other notable alumni during Texas Tech's School of Nursing Commencement on May 7, 2021.  

Distinguished alumni were originally announced in September 2020. Recipients of the awards are listed in the Winter 2021 edition of Pulse, the magazine of Texas Tech's Health Science Center.
