John Agens, M.D.
Dr. Agens completed his undergraduate education at Rutgers Camden College of Arts and Sciences. He then received his medical degree from Rutgers University and completed his residency at Cooper Hospital University Medical Center specializing in internal medicine.
Dr. Agens says that he did not choose geriatrics, but that geriatrics chose him. He has always been great at listening to patients and their family stories. He worked with a few families as their primary care provider. As they reached "older age," they asked him to continue their care – and he accepted. He later became the medical director of a retirement community.
Dr. Agens serves on the Quality and Performance Measure Committee of the American Geriatrics Society.
In his spare time, he loves to dance with his wife and cook. His favorite dish to cook is homemade spaghetti sauce.
