Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast (ASHEC) - full-service, community-based, 76-bed hospital offering 24/7 emergency care. The site has both adult and pediatric emergency rooms and receives support from pediatric specialists at Studer Family Children’s Hospital in Pensacola. The site’s Family Birth Place provides specialized medical care to women with high-risk pregnancies and their babies, including a 10-bed Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This is the site for inpatient adult medicine (includes ICU), emergency medicine, obstetrics, radiology, outpatient pediatrics, and sports medicine rotations.
Walton Community Health Center operated by the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) in Walton County- Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that serves as the residency’s Family Medicine Practice site. All residents and core faculty provide care to a panel of family medicine patients in this clinic. This is also the site for the geriatrics and public health rotations and longitudinal educational experiences in behavioral health, women’s health, health systems management, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS).
Point Washington Medical Clinic - volunteer-driven primary care clinic that sees patients of all ages and requires no payment for services. Faculty and residents see patients in this clinic every Tuesday.
Emerald ENT - Board certified otorhinolaryngologists provide full service ENT care to the people of northwest Florida. Residents rotate in this clinic and with the ENT physicians in the operating room at ASHEC during the PGY1 year.
Brookdale Health Plus - an assisted living and memory care facility located near ASHEC. Residents rotate here during their geriatrics rotation in PGY2 and PGY3 years.
Emerald Coast Hospice - provides routine home care, continuous home care, general inpatient care, and respite care. Residents rotate with hospice providers during their geriatrics rotations in PGY2 and PGY3 years.
Lakeview Center of Walton County - provides care for adults and children experiencing a wide range of mental health and substance misuse issues. Residents rotate here during their behavioral health longitudinal experience.
Coastal Skin and Dermatology - Board certified dermatologists and physician assistants provide a broad variety of surgical, medical, and cosmetic dermatological services as well as skin care products and services to the residents and visitors of Florida’s Emerald Coast. PGY1 residents rotate in this clinic.
Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola - Northwest Florida’s only hospital solely dedicated to the care of sick and injured babies and children, the Studer Family Children’s Hospital offers a wide range of services to meet all of a child’s medical needs to include the area’s only Level III neonatal intensive care unit, pediatric intensive care, cancer care, rehabilitation and more than 120 board-certified physicians across 30 pediatric specialties. PGY2 residents perform inpatient pediatric rotations at this site.
Ascension Sacred Heart Gulf - 15-bed rural hospital, in Port St. Joe, providing 24/7 emergency care to the residents of Gulf and Franklin counties. Ascension Sacred Heart Gulf offers urgent surgical services and cardiovascular care, as well as a helipad to provide rapid transportation of trauma and critically ill patients. PGY3 residents rotate here for a rural medicine rotation.
