Outreach Activities
If you would like to have graduate students in the FSU Department of Biomedical Sciences come to your school or function for a science demonstration, etc. please contact our Outreach Coordinator via Ewa Bienkiewicz with the details and a short description of your event. We are experienced science fair judges and presenters with three ready-to-go activities under our belt, but we're always open to considering new event/activity ideas!
Banana DNA Extraction
One of our students, Marisa Tillery, made a fun video with our Instructional Design & Media Production team demonstrating how you can extract the DNA from a banana using household supplies. Be careful... you might have fun learning science!
LEGOscopes
Marisa also compiled a helpful step-by-step picture guide to help you build your very own LEGOscope (microscope made out of LEGOs)!
