About the Founder
AIG Founder: Nicholas Davis
Nicholas Davis is a member of the FSU COM Class of 2026. He has been passionate about neuroscience and the human mind since he began his undergraduate studies at Florida State University in 2018. He is driven to dive deep into the art of anesthesiology, a specialty which encompasses the pharmaceutical manipulation of both the physical and psychological manifestations of the nervous system. Nicholas wanted to establish AIG to increase the opportunities available for FSU medical students within this specialty. He believes creating more awareness of the specialty early on for interested learners is vital to their success.
His passion for anesthesiology stems from his desire to work with patients from a wide variety of backgrounds and to help them through some of the most challenging experiences of their lives. Being the anesthesiologist not only requires competency of medical knowledge, but the compassion and care to serve others. With that, he is specifically interested in pursuing a career in neurosurgical or pain medicine anesthesiology and would like to one day develop a research team within these. One of his career goals is to assist in the advancement of long-lasting analgesics that persists days after surgical intervention. He believes that this would not only have major implications in the operating room, but also in preventing chronic overuse of pain medications post-operatively. This is especially important considering the opioid epidemic.
