It’s designed for those who value true work-life balance (No call!), are drawn to communities that prioritize service to others, and aspire to become outstanding family physicians prepared to practice in any setting around the world.

We are committed to preparing compassionate physicians who deliver the highest quality, 21st-century, patient-centered care to communities with the greatest need. Our program provides a unique, individualized, community-based training experience. Residents learn from faculty who are compassionate, holistic, and deeply dedicated to the mission of teaching and mentorship.

Program Aims

  • Graduate passionate family physicians who find joy in their profession and are eager to mentor and teach others.
  • Graduate physicians who are experts in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to diverse populations, with a focus on medically underserved communities.

About the Program

Residents receive a comprehensive education across the full spectrum of family medicine, with the flexibility to focus elective time on one or two areas of interest. This prepares them for fellowship training or to work in the practice environment of their choosing upon graduation. Our program emphasizes the development of skills and competence necessary to deliver high-quality outpatient care, with the Family Medicine Residency Clinic serving as the centerpiece of the educational experience. A commitment to caring for underserved populations is central to our mission. The program actively seeks innovative ways to reach and support these communities. Residents complete dedicated family medicine clinic rotations throughout all three years, fostering continuity with their patient panels and building the skills required to lead patient-centered medical home teams. We offer longitudinal training in women’s health, procedures (including point-of-care ultrasound), health systems management, behavioral medicine, and care for underserved populations - integrated across all three years.

Our residents do NOT take in-house call at any point during training. Why? Because we don’t have to! and because we believe time outside the hospital and clinic is essential. Whether it’s nurturing personal relationships, enjoying hobbies, or simply recharging, we know one thing: A happy physician is a better physician.
