What is Leadership in Medicine (LIM)?

A four year para-curricular program that is student-run and faculty-supported

Designed to develop students professionally into future leaders in healthcare

Creating a culture of purpose-driven medical students, equipping them with tools of leadership (competencies) and exposure to diverse leadership experiences in the medical field
What do we do?
- Foster a close relationship with a mentor in a key leadership area whom we observe and learn from
- Measure and improve our leadership competencies through the use of data collection, leadership training, book clubs, and peer feedback
- Develop and implement a community improvement project with the assistance of a faculty member
- Continually develop the program through problem solving and refining of the syllabus
Four Leadership Tracks:
- Health Policy/Public Health
- Academic Medicine
- Community Medicine
- Executive Medicine

- Relationship management
Mission Statement:
- Expand the capacity of Florida State University College of Medicine’s training resources to prepare students for mission-based leadership roles.
- Focus efforts toward nurturing a culture of purpose-driven medical students, equipping them with tools of leadership (competencies) and exposure to diverse leadership experiences in the medical field.
- Combine the unique mission, location, and relationships at FSU to provide an unprecedented level of training in health leadership domains for medical students.
