Rolle inducted into FSU's Circle of Gold

Myron Rolle Circle of Gold Induction

Myron Rolle has received another honor from the FSU Alumni Association. On Sept. 19, the second-year medical student was one of five alumni inducted into the Circle of Gold. Among the other recipients was Donna Lou Askew, former first lady of Florida.

The Circle of Gold recognizes worthy individuals who, through their service and achievements, personify the university’s tradition of excellence. A maximum of 12 awards are presented each year.

Rolle, a Rhodes Scholar and All-American safety for the Seminoles football team, got his bachelor’s degree from FSU in 2008. That was the same year he became an Associated Press Football All-American and BET Male College Athlete of the Year. After he earned his MSc in medical anthropology from Oxford University, he returned to the U.S. in 2010 and was drafted into the National Football League by the Tennessee Titans – one of only three people in history to be both a Rhodes Scholar and an NFL player.

Rolle is chairman of the Myron L. Rolle Foundation, which serves the underserved in areas of health, wellness and education in the U.S. and around the world.

In June, he was selected as one of Florida State’s newest Thirty Under 30 — recognizing their contributions to their professions, communities or FSU as young alumni.
