Breast Cancer Walk

Several students participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Vero Beach on Saturday, Oct. 21.  They joined the team of Dr. Nancy Baker, Fort Pierce campus clerkship director for family medicine. Making Strides is a nationwide grass-roots effort coordinated by local American Cancer Society offices and championed by members of the community. A year ago, the chance of dying from breast cancer was 1 in 36, but today the chance is 1 in 37. Breast cancer death rates are going down thanks to the people from this community who raise money for research and support programs.
