Welcoming Lauren Harper to BSSM & IPRD

Lauren Harper

We are pleased to announce that Lauren Harper, Ph.D., has joined the FSU College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor with the Institute for Pediatric Rare Diseases (IPRD), with her Promotion and Tenure home in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine (BSSM). Harper is a licensed clinical psychologist whose interests and expertise align closely with the mission of BSSM.

Harper earned her Ph.D. in psychology at Florida State University under the mentorship of Michael Kofler, Ph.D., and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She most recently served as Associate Director and Pediatric Neuropsychologist at the Children’s Learning Center at FSU and has been a co-investigator on NIH-funded clinical trials focused on executive functioning interventions for children with ADHD and their parents.

At IPRD, Harper will work with Nora Pepper, M.D., to develop an integrated pediatric clinical diagnosis and treatment clinic for families undergoing genetic testing and care. She will also build an independent, collaborative research program focused on improving cognitive and behavioral outcomes for children with ADHD and related conditions.
