The free workshop explored the health, emotional and spiritual benefits of palliative care, a specialized approach that focuses on improving quality of life and relieving symptoms and stress for people living with serious illness. The session also highlighted a common gap in care, noting that caregivers often receive limited information from health care providers about available palliative care services.

Featured presenters Fabiola Jean-Charles, MSW, Big Bend Health, and Chris Morissette, Alivia Care Inc., discussed what palliative care is, when families should consider it, how it can improve quality of life, and ways to navigate insurance coverage. ACTS2 Project Coordinator Tomeka Norton-Brown also shared free caregiver training and support resources, along with personal insight from her own caregiving experience.

Learn how palliative care can better support both patients and families and help improve overall well-being.
