Heart Health Is Brain Health: FSU ACTS2 Leaders Address Brain Health and Dementia
FSU ACTS2 Caregiver Project leaders recently joined local faith-based leaders for the 10th annual Health for Hearts United Leadership Institute, where discussions focused on the connection between heart health, brain health and dementia.
ACTS2 Director Robert Glueckauf, Ph.D., explored dementia’s impact on older adults and caregivers. He also spoke about these challenges and the support available to families affected by dementia. ACTS2 coordinator Tomeka Norton-Brown followed by sharing resources for dementia caregivers, including faith-integrated support groups, educational programs and telephone-based consultation and referrals.
