We are excited to announce that Florida State University’s Florida BH IMPACT Program has been awarded a new three-year, $3 million contract with the Florida Department of Health, continuing and expanding our statewide maternal mental health work through June 30, 2029.

This new contract will allow our program to continue working to improve the identification and treatment of pregnant and postpartum women experiencing mental health and substance use disorders, with a focus on rural and medically underserved communities across Florida.

Through this investment, our BH IMPACT team will continue to:

  • Expand statewide access to maternal psychiatric consultation, referral, and resource support
  • Maintain the toll-free psychiatric access line for obstetric providers
  • Enroll and support prenatal and postpartum clinical sites in implementing evidence-based screening and treatment models
  • Provide customized training and technical support to clinical partners
  • Expand and enhance Florida’s Statewide Maternal Health Resource Directory
  • Train community mental health providers in the evidence-based management of perinatal mental health disorders
  • Conduct community forums and strengthen partnerships across Florida

This $3 million, three-year investment represents an important commitment to strengthening Florida’s maternal mental health infrastructure and expanding the support available to healthcare providers serving pregnant and postpartum families.
