Message from the Program Director

We are delighted that you are interested in our residency program! Our goal is to prepare each of our residents for success in the next phase of their career whether that be in general primary care pediatrics or in an academic subspecialty.
Our program aims to provide a strong foundation in pediatric medical knowledge, clinical skills, clinical decision-making, and leadership. Our residents come from diverse backgrounds and interests and work together with our faculty to provide the best possible care for patients in a supportive learning environment.
Our program was founded by three local pediatricians in 1969. Their goal was to increase the number of pediatricians in the Pensacola area and we have certainly done that as many of the pediatricians in the Florida panhandle are graduates of our program. I myself have been part of our program since I came to do my pediatric residency training 37 years ago and am thrilled to now serve as program director. I encourage you to explore what our program has to offer you! I believe we are truly a special place to train where you will make lifelong friends, grow tremendously in your ability to care for the most complex and vulnerable patients, and become a leader and advocate within your community. I look forward to meeting you!
Kindest regards,
Diane Wilkinson, M.D., FAAP
