Introduction
The FSU Chapman Chapter of the Gold Humanism Society will host a special humanism event featuring Dr. Bridget Highet, medical director of Halifax Health Hospice and Palliative Care in Daytona Beach. Dr. Highet will be discussing empathetic communication and how the words we choose can help (or harm) relationships with patients. Topics will include establishing rapport and getting patients to open up about their concerns and addressing difficult conversations from vaccine hesitancy to "giving bad news."
A light reception will follow in the atrium.
