Brain Death: Searching for a Moral Justification
The Medical Respect for Life Organization is hosting a virtual event this Monday, November 28th at 7 PM concerning the lawful definition of brain death and its moral implications considering the Dead Donor Rule. The lines we draw to determine “what is brain death?” have been moved several times throughout history. In recent years, the American Academy of Neurology has proposed additional revisions to the current UDDA (Uniform Determination of Death Act). Citation 1. Citation 2. Our presentation will be led by Dr. Nair-Collins, an expert on this topic, who will share his thoughts on the legal and ethical considerations.
A brief Q&A will be hosted immediately after the presentation. We’d love for you to join us virtually (Zoom ID: 99240387359) from 7:00-8:00 PM this Monday, November 28th to engage in a thoughtful discussion of this topic!
