Numerous events are being held on Friday, May 17 ahead of the M.D. Class of 2019's graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 18.

Gold Humanism Honor Society Ceremony

The Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) honors medical students, residents, role-model physician teachers and other exemplars recognized for “demonstrated excellence in clinical care, leadership, compassion and dedication to service.” The FSU College of Medicine GHHS Chapter was created in 1997 to recognize the top 10-15% of the graduating class who stood out as exemplars of humanism. Students who are chosen each receive multiple nominations from faculty and staff and their classmates in categories that assessed: care with caring, service, and clinical excellence.
A small reception will be held in the atrium from 3:30-4 p.m.
4 p.m.
Matt Wittman Memorial
The college will honor Matt Wittman, a member of the Class of 2019, with a memorial plaque and obelisk to be displayed in perpetuity as part of a planned garden space near the courtyard. Graduating students will have an opportunity to honor the memory of their classmate at 4 p.m.
4:30-6 p.m.
Graduation Awards Ceremony

Members of the M.D. Class of 2019 will be honored with a series of awards recognizing leadership, excellence in research, excellence in specialties, altruism and more.
The Class of 2019 graduation reception will be held in the atrium from 6:15 to 8 p.m.
