What do you like about HMSS?

My favorite part about HMSS is the fact that I started my first year at FSU with a built-in support system comprised of people who genuinely wanted me to succeed. The path towards medical school is infamously difficult and competitive, but it can also be lonely. I am extremely grateful that I have peers  in my classes that share my same goals, older students from the program who frequently offer their own words of wisdom, and compassionate advisers who work with me on a one-on-one basis to help me become everything I aspire to be.

Why do you want to go into medicine?

My initial inspiration for medicine came from two instrumental people in my life; my pediatrician, who is my model for what an excellent physician is to this day, and my mother, whose work in public health and compassion has always motivated me to be as kind and selfless as possible. These women pushed me to work hard and find what truly made me happy; this is how I found medicine, a career path where I could spend every day working to improve the lives of others.
