Dr. Charles Fleischer Advances Global Health Research Through Publication and NIH Grant Proposal
The Florida State University College of Medicine Department of Family Medicine and Rural Health congratulates Dr. Charles Fleischer on the publication of his latest scholarly work and his continued leadership in advancing research that addresses important public health challenges.
Dr. Fleischer co-authored Pediatric Teledermatology in Global Settings: A Systematic Review of Conditions, Modalities, and Outcomes alongside Dr. Jennifer Gregory, Dr. Jennifer Bowers, Dr. Priscille Jean, Dr. David Henderson, Dr. David Lee, and colleagues. Published in the WebLog Journal of Dermatology, the review explores how teledermatology is expanding access to pediatric dermatology care in global settings and highlights its potential to expand access to specialty care for underserved populations.
In addition, Dr. Fleischer recently submitted the National Institutes of Health (NIH) R21 research proposal, Predicting Red Tide-Associated Human Health Risk, as Principal Investigator. The project seeks to better understand the human health impacts associated with harmful algal blooms and is currently under review.
These accomplishments reflect Dr. Fleischer's continued commitment to advancing research, expanding access to care, and addressing public health challenges at both the local and global levels.
