Description

Previously called “Curtains for a Cause,” the newly-named “Valentine’s Day Soiree” will feature world-famous David Gaines in “Broadway and Beyond”. Mr. Gaines is widely known to audiences for over 2,000 performances of the Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Phantom of the Opera” on Broadway, in Los Angeles (L.A.’s longest running Phantom) and in San Francisco (where he received the Bay Area Critics’ Award for Best Actor). “Gaines is a breathtaking concert artist, strong yet nuanced. The way he can express great tenderness one moment, great power the next, seems little short of miraculous.” New York Post. We are also proud to say Mr. Gaines is a  graduate of the FSU School of Theatre, an inductee into the FSU Circle of Gold and 1990 Grad Made Good. Mr. Gaines established the “Davis Gaines Endowed Scholarship” in Music Theatre for FSU students to attain the same goals and dreams that he has accomplished in his career. All proceeds from the Valentine’s Day Soiree benefit the FSU College of Medicine and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Dystonia Research Program.
