Introduction

The African American Alzheimer’s Caregiver Training and Support Project (ACTS2) and the FSU College of Medicine will present a free Facebook Live workshop titled “Maximizing Health and Well-Being for Loved Ones with Dementia: Special Focus on Palliative Care.” Featured presenters Fabiola Jean-Charles, MSW, director of Transitions Supportive Care, and Chris Morissette, chief strategy and innovation officer at Alivia Care Inc., will cover topics including palliative care’s impact on quality of life, when to consider using it, best methods for accessing it and how to obtain insurance coverage. ACTS2 Project Coordinator Tomeka Norton-Brown, a family caregiver, will highlight opportunities for free skills training, problem-solving consultation and support for family caregivers. The workshop is open to all who are interested in learning more.
