Shermeeka Hogans-Mathews, MD and DanTasia Welch, MS, win Blue Ribbon Award for Outstanding Poster
Dr. Shermeeka Hogans-Mathews and Ms. DanTasia Welch won a Blue-Ribbon Award for their outstanding poster titled An Investigational Study of the Role of Postpartum Mood Disorders in Lactating vs. Non-Lactating African American Women, presented at the 2023 Society of Teachers of Family Medicine Conference on Medical Student Education hosted at the Marriott Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana, January 26-29, 2023.
The STFM Medical Student Education Committee recognized outstanding posters selected by STFM peers. Each poster was evaluated independently by up to 3 reviewers. Reviewers assessed the clarity of the introduction, relevance to family medicine medical student education, strength of methods, presentation of results, and discussion of key findings, limitations, and implications of the project, as well as the visual presentation, and overall effectiveness of stimulating viewer interest and communicating content. 80 posters were reviewed, and the top 10 highest scoring posters are identified by a blue ribbon.
