Age-Friendly Healthcare in a COVID-19 World
Live Webinar: Friday, September 25th, 2020
8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Age-friendly healthcare involves using evidence-based practice and awareness of what matters most to individuals in every care interaction. It also operates within the 4M's framework, which includes Medication, Mentation, Mobility, and What Matters Most. This framework has, however, had to adapt to the global coronavirus pandemic. Our webinar will host experts on each aspect of the 4M's and panels of those on the front lines serving older adults in our communities.
- Keynote: Megan Wolfe, JD - Age-Friendly Public Health Systems
- Alex Papaioannou, MD - Mobility - Mobility and Osteoporosis
- Manju Beier, PharmD - Medication - Medication Management
- Ray Ownby, MD, PhD - Mentation - Brain Health and Dementia Prevention
- Marshall Kapp, JD, MPH - What Matters Most - The Coronavirus and Older People: Legal and Ethical Concerns
Dementia Care Panel: Breaking Down Silos - This interactive session will guide the audience through Florida's publicly accessible dementia care resources and provide updates on ways communities across the state are supporting persons affected. Leaders in the dementia care resource network will explain how partnership with and referral to dementia care community supports can improve the patient and caregiver experience.
COVID-19 Panel: Lessons and Stories from the Front Lines - The COVID-19 panel will discuss challenges of managing COVID-19 in older adults both in community and institutional settings. It will address the aspects of social isolation, infection prevention, and medical management.
