What do you like about HMSS?

The HMSS is a wonderful opportunity that has allowed me to join a close-knit community with people that share the same passion for medicine and service. Everyone in HMSS is always willing to work together and help each other out. The program also offers many opportunities to get involved in the healthcare field through volunteering and shadowing, in addition to providing invaluable guidance from College of Medicine faculty.

 

Why do you want to go into medicine?

I want to go into medicine to make a difference in the lives of others. Through my extracurricular activities of volunteering and shadowing over the years, I’ve been able to see firsthand the impact medicine has on the broader community. These experiences have helped develop my passion for the people-oriented aspect of medicine as I’ve been able to gain the joy and satisfaction of helping those in need.
