What do you like about HMSS?

There are so many positive aspects about HMSS that it is difficult to list them all. Overall, however, I have to say that Dr. Campbell and Dr. Foster are extraordinary role models who provide tremendous support to all the scholars. In turn, the older scholars help guide the younger making the college transition much smoother. Another vital aspect of HMSS is that it provides a venue for connection with like minded people. HMSS promotes a heart of serving, so, together, we have the opportunity to make an impact on our community.

Why do you want to go into medicine?

The thought of medicine just excites me. I see advancements and breakthroughs with cures for cancers, diabetes, etc. just around the corner. Watching my best friend lose his dad to lymphoma instilled in me the desire to make a difference. At this point in time, I do not know what the solutions are, but I know that I will be part of them. It is my desire to practice medicine as a means of bringing hope to a world that desperately needs it.
