Family Medicine Interest Group

Students of FMIG at eventThe Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) is an organization that offers information about family practice and the practice of medicine in general. FMIG membership is free and also involves membership with the Florida Academy of Family Physicians (FAFP) and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). The FAFP contributes to FMIG funding for speakers, luncheons and receptions. The FAFP also provides opportunities for student attendance at regional and national conferences, such as the annual meeting of Family Practice Residents and Medical Students in Kansas City. Membership in the AAFP provides students with a free subscription to a wonderful journal, the American Family Physician. FMIG is open to any medical student, even if you are unsure of your career goals. Most importantly, membership to the FMIG, AAFP and FAFP are free.
