Ashley Wright

Class of 2018

Hometown: Pomona Park, Fla.
Undergraduate Degree: University of Florida

Ashley Wright graduated cum laude from the University of Florida (UF) in spring 2013 with her Bachelor of Science degree in health science and a minor in communication sciences and disorders. She was able to attend UF through the Florida Opportunity Scholars (FOS) Program, which assists low-income, first-generation students as they transition into college. During her time at UF, she was inducted into Golden Key International Honour Society and volunteered with various groups and organizations, including the Health Science Student Organization and Shands hospital. She also worked part-time and became an FOS mentor to help other first-year students. Ashley chose to attend the Florida State University College of Medicine because of its patient-centered health care and devotion to rural, minority and underserved populations. Coming from a rural, underserved area herself, she believes the FSU College of Medicine’s mission reflects her own and she intends to fulfill them both.
