Dr. Shermeeka Hogans-Mathews, Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Rural Health, will have an algorithm published in The 5-Minute Clinical Consult 2023. The 5-Minute Clinical Consult's algorithms are flowcharts to help readers in the diagnosis of clinical signs and symptoms and in treatment. They are organized by the presenting sign, symptom, or diagnosis and are designed to be used as a quick reference and adjunct to readers' clinical knowledge and impression. They are not an exhaustive review of the management of a problem, nor are they meant to be a complete list of diseases. Dr. Hogans-Mathews' algorithm for the Depressed Mood Associated with Medical Illness is slated to be released for publication in May 2022.
