Research faculty Karen W Geletko, M.P.H., Katelyn Graves, Ph.D., Shermeeka Hogans-Mathews, M.D., and Professor Jeffrey Harman, Ph.D. authored a journal article titled “Healthcare visits by smokers: Does cessation treatment differ based on clinical condition?” The study finds that providers are offering cessation treatment to individuals with behavioral health conditions at either higher or comparable rates to those without. Using data from the National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey, researchers seek to examine if cessation treatment offered at healthcare visits differs based on the clinical condition.
