Ebola Virus

 On November 12, 2014 at 6:00 pm, the Department of Biomedical Sciences hosted its first Public Health Information Event. College of Medicine experts in viral biology, infectious diseases, public health systems, and global medicine discussed the current Ebola outbreak in West Africa and the potential for spread in other parts of the world. This panel discussion featured Biomedical Sciences faculty members Jamila Horabin , Ph.D., and David Meckes, Ph.D., along with Claudia Blackburn, MPH, director of the Florida Department of Health office in Leon County, and Daniel Van Durme, M.D., chair of the Department of Family Medicine and Rural Health and director of the Center on Global Health. Many thanks to The Florida Channel for recording the program, which can be viewed at the link below.
