Jon Appelbaum, MD, FACP, AAHIVS, a professor and chair of the Department of Clinical Sciences, recently contributed to an article, Better Options Available For Multidrug-Resistant HIV, posted on the Infectious Disease Special Edition (IDSE) website. The article discusses how patients may develop a multi-drug resistance and the need for new agents to assist with combatting HIV. Some new agents are now available that may provide hope for multi-drug resistant patients.
