Job Description

Dr. Tyson coordinates the general surgery curriculum and training of third- and fourth-year medical students at the Pensacola Regional Campus.


Dr. Tyson is a board certified general surgeon who has been working in private practice in the Pensacola areas since 2000. He has hospital privileges at both Baptist Hospital and Gulf Breeze Hospital as well as Sacred Heart Hospital. He does a wide range of general surgery. Dr. Tyson was trained in residency at the Navy Hospital of San Diego which he graduated from in 1992 and was initially board certified in surgery as well as in surgical critical care in 1993. He has served overseas as well as aboard an LKA and an aircraft carrier. After honorable discharge from the Navy in 1997, he briefly was in private practice in Ohio before moving to Pensacola.
