Description

IPRD will host a special event in recognition of Rare Disease Day on Friday, February 28, 2025. The event will highlight the significance of rare disease research and the groundbreaking contributions being made at the IPRD.

The event will commence with a news conference featuring FSU President Richard McCullough, members of the FSU Board of Trustees, and Florida Representative Adam Anderson. They will be joined by IPRD Director Pradeep Bhide, FSU College of Medicine Dean Alma Littles, FSU Provost James Clark, and FSU Vice President for Research Stacey Patterson to discuss the university’s commitment to advancing rare disease research and its impact on affected children and families.

Following the news conference, the IPRD will host a rare disease research symposium, where scientists from the institute will present their latest findings. The symposium will provide an opportunity for researchers, clinicians, and the broader community to engage in discussions on innovations in pediatric rare disease diagnosis and treatment.

Rare Disease Day is a globally recognized observance dedicated to raising awareness and advocating for individuals affected by rare diseases. With approximately 30 million Americans living with a rare disease, the need for continued research and clinical advancements is more critical than ever.

The IPRD remains at the forefront of this mission, striving to improve the lives of children with rare conditions through cutting-edge research and collaboration.
