Chapman Wellness Garden Ribbon-Cutting
The Chapman Wellness Garden ribbon-cutting event, which was postponed due to Friday’s inclement weather, has been rescheduled for Friday, May 17, at 3 p.m. at the College of Medicine. It will now coincide with the Hippocratic Award Ceremony, which is only fitting given the many ties connecting the two, not the least being the Jules B. Chapman, M.D., and Annie Lou Chapman Private Foundation, which supports programs at both the Florida State University College of Medicine and the University of Florida College of Medicine.
The original ribbon-cutting event was to include the planting of a Sycamore tree sapling rooted from the offspring of the original tree that Hippocrates, the father of medicine, lectured under in Greece. It was gifted to us by the University of Florida College of Medicine.
Fittingly, we will incorporate the Chapman Wellness Garden ribbon-cutting, made possible by a gift from the Chapman Foundation, the planting of the tree, and the presentation of the Hippocratic Award.
We hope you will be able to join us on this day of celebration, when we will also honor our graduating students.
Light refreshments will follow the ceremony.
